Not a lot of the other best Euro poker sites have a monthly freeroll so large. In addition to the special customer support you already receive in lower VIP levels, you now get assistance for brick-and-mortar tournament registration and can trade SPs for live tournament buy-ins. Here are all the tier levels and what they earn:

A couple weeks ago I wrote about Everest Poker, which is on the list as one of the best online poker rooms for those building bankrolls for the first time. Today I plan to continue reviewing the site by moving on to its software.

As I already mentioned, the biggest weakness of an Everest Poker download is the large amount of computer resources needed when you're playing in the poker room. You shouldn't go thinking that everything about the interface is poor, though. There are definitely a few good things.

Most people expect smooth navigation on top Texas Hold'em sites, and Everest Poker has acted accordingly. They allow you to either search through the various games employing a tabbed navigation system, or you can use the custom list to show only the exact limits that you would like to play. At least one of these options should be more than enough to suit your needs.

A major benefit of being able to download free poker is the ability to play more than one table at a time. Like many of the best sites, Everest offers resizable tables, but they also give you a feature that not many sites offer: you can choose to size the tables to four different resolutions. Your tables can be at 640x480, 800x600, 1024x728, and 1280x960. When you consider resizable tables and resolution choices, you have to admit that Everest has jumped ahead of other money poker sites in this aspect.

However, the one thing holding Everest Poker back is the memory hog issue. If they hope to compete with a Full Tilt Poker download, they at least need to provide the option of reducing graphics at the tables. You can turn off animations at the tables, but it is not a lot of help.

If you would rather wait for Everest to give their software an overhaul before trying it out, there are numerous other rooms to download. Like Tiger Gaming, Everest Poker is filled with mostly people learning to play poker for the first time, which is perfect for building the bankroll. No Limit stakes start at $0.10 - $0.10, and they only go as high as $50 - $50. Oh yeah, and you might wonder why I listed the No Limit stakes the way I did. The NLHE stakes are described by using the same value twice, but this is in fact the value of the big blind with the small blind being half that number. I thought you should know that before you make the download and spend half your night being confused.

I don't need to explain the Limit stakes, thank goodness. They begin at $0.02 - $0.04 and the highest limit is $50 - $ 100. As you can see, this won't suit the players with the biggest bankrolls. Sit and Go's can be played for as little as $0.04 + $0.01 and progress up to a fairly large $500 + $30. You should keep in mind that like Tiger Gaming, Everest Poker is not on the US poker sites list. Residents of Russia and China are also not allowed to play on Everest.

Everest Poker has expanded considerably since coming into the poker world, working extremely hard to be considered among the best online poker sites online. Unlike a lot of new poker sites, they chose to create their very own Everest Network rather than become a skin of another site. The Everest Network is currently the 6th most popular poker network online. This poker room is actually a great place to begin playing poker.

There are a few negatives however. One bad point would be the lack of diversity in games, as there are only variations of Hold'em and Omaha, whereas many other money poker sites out there offer at least Stud. Also, unless you have a newer computer, you may find yourself getting irritated as the program uses a lot of resources. When it's all said and done, however, there is a good chance you will encounter a lot more good than bad when trying an Everest Poker download.

Tiger Gaming recently updated their software, making it much more pleasant to play there. Before the update, they were definitely missing some key features that make online poker a positive playing experience.

When playing at Tiger Gaming tables, you can now view hand histories instantly. They also added some key multi-tabling features: resizable tables and the ability to play up to 30 at once (rather than just 4). Furthermore, if you like stats but don't use a HUD, you can even view some basic stats at your tables.

Tiger Gaming has the requisite advance action buttons. One thing I noted was that unlike many other download free poker sites, the No Limit games do not have the option for two common advance action commands: "call any" and "raise any". I actually like this because you can lose a lot of money in No Limit when they are accidentally activated.

Tiger Gaming's chat interface has the option of showing dealer chat, player chat, both, or neither. And like the best sites such as a Full Tilt Poker download, you can also choose to play with a four color deck which aids multi-tablers by making it quicker to see different suits.

One odd feature of the software is that when you want to bet, you have to press the 'bet other' button to bet greater than the minimum. Pressing this button brings up a pop up where you can bet as much as you want. While it sounds like an annoying extra step, it's actually not bad, although some may not like the fact it is automatically set to bet the pot. It's true that this can be bad sometimes, but it can also benefit you. The PokerStars download has no 'bet pot' button and therefore people often make very small bets, but at Tiger they will often just bet the pot because it's so easy to do. This is annoying in situations where you are drawing since pot sized bets usually don't give you correct odds. There are many situations in poker when betting the pot is very bad, though, and this is when the preset amount is a great advantage for you.

Another difference from many other money poker sites is that people can leave their table after winning a big pot, and then they can buy back in for what they want. Many people do not like hit-and-run artists and this "feature" will anger them.

Tiger Gaming also has different buy-in schemes for their no-limit tables than most sites. Instead of a normal 100BB maximum-10BB minimum, Tiger has a 40-50BB minimum (changes at different stakes) and the normal 100BB maximum. Since most serious players wish short stackers played free bet sportsbooks instead of poker, these minimums are sure to make many people happy.

This article regarding the interface at Tiger Gaming should help you decide whether it's the right site for you. Even if you don't think Tiger is one of the best sites online for poker, it's at least better than playing with Bingo codes. Tiger Gaming is a nice site with pleasing graphics and a clean interface. The deposit bonus is huge and the support is very useful when you have a problem. What makes Tiger Gaming unique from other sites is that it hosts a number of special games that you will not find in any other poker room. Such games include Chinese Poker (very addictive), Pan, Guts (my favorite), and Big 2 (a classic). You won't find a blackjack download here, but this will become your site of choice if you enjoy any of the other games.

I haven't talked about actual poker yet! Tiger Gaming offers tables of Limit and No-limit Texas Hold'Em, Limit and Pot-limit Omaha and, when the tables fill, 7 Card Stud.

Tiger Gaming has opted to focus their advertising in Canada, telling people to download free poker in commercials airing on TSN, Rogers Sportsnet and The Score. I suppose they decided that Canada is an untapped poker market. The aggressive campaign is still going on and has resulted in a poker site full of Canadians, many of whom really can't play poker well at all.

Sometimes you'll find there aren't that many games running, especially at 50NL+ and 1/2+. If you're new to money poker sites, though, finding a table at $2 NL up to $25 NL is usually very easy. You will usually have three to six 25NL tables to choose from, for example. The same can't be said for finding 50NL tables. You'll be lucky to have two 50NL tables to choose from. Those looking for 100NL will be even more disappointed. 100NL pretty much never runs, and when it does, there's only one table. I have never seen the NL1000 table populated in my time at the site, so these players will just have to make do with Daniels Room poker instead.

I also have to admit that the traffic for games other than Hold'em is quite bad. 7 Card Stud is offered but it never runs. Omaha has similar problems. Occasionally there is one table of Omaha running, and it's usually Pot Limit with 20 cent blinds. If you prefer these games, it might be a better choice to go with a PokerStars download. Regarding the special games like Chinese Poker, at peak hours it is not hard to get a game going. Because Tiger is the only place you can find them, the traffic is reasonable. For example, the game Guts usually runs two or three tables at once, and the minimum bet is usually from 10 to 50 cents.

If you want to play low stakes on Tiger Gaming, the traffic and games are not bad. If you are just starting out with poker, it would be a good idea to start your bankroll at Tiger and then plan to move to a Full Tilt Poker download as soon as you're ready to try higher buy-ins.
